4. Choose Campaign Type

  • Campaign Type Selection: Choose a campaign type that aligns with your advertising objective. Each type has different features and best practices. Here are the options:
    • Search Campaign: These are text ads that appear on Google search results pages. They are effective for targeting users actively searching for specific keywords related to your business.
    • Display Campaign: These use image ads that appear across a network of websites, apps, and Google-owned properties (e.g., YouTube). Useful for building brand awareness and retargeting.
    • Video Campaign: Video ads shown on YouTube and other video platforms. They are great for brand awareness and engagement.
    • Shopping Campaign: Product ads that appear on Google search results and the Google Shopping tab. Ideal for retailers promoting their product inventory.
    • Discovery Campaign: Ads that appear within Google’s Discovery feeds (e.g., YouTube home feed, Gmail). Useful for reaching users as they browse various Google properties.
    • App Campaign: Ads designed to promote app installs and engagements across Google’s networks, including Search, Display, Play, YouTube, and more.
    • Local Campaign: Ads aimed at promoting physical store locations. These appear across Google’s properties to attract local customers.
    • Smart Campaign: Automated campaigns that use Google’s machine learning to simplify ad management, targeting, and bidding.
  • Choose Subtypes: If the selected campaign type has subtypes, choose one that best fits your needs (e.g., "Search Network Only" or "Search Network with Display Select" for search campaigns).
  • Click Continue: After selecting the campaign type and subtype, click "Continue" to proceed.

5. Set Up Campaign

  • Campaign Settings: Configure your campaign settings, including budget, bidding strategy, target audience, geographic location, and language preferences.
  • Ad Groups: Create ad groups within your campaign. Each ad group contains ads and keywords related to specific themes or products.
  • Design Ads: Develop the actual ads that will be displayed. Depending on the campaign type, this could include writing ad copy for text ads, designing image ads, creating video content, or setting up product listings.

Additional Tips

  • Targeting Options: Utilize targeting features such as demographics, interests, and behaviors to reach your ideal audience.
  • Ad Extensions: Enhance your ads with additional information like business address, phone number, or additional links.
  • Tracking and Optimization: Implement tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor performance. Regularly review campaign data to optimize ad performance and adjust strategies as needed.

By carefully setting up your campaign and continuously optimizing based on performance data, you can effectively reach your advertising goals and maximize your return on investment.
